Ta @BlondeinBrisvegas! Gosh this going to be an expensive trip up. $522 for flights plus at least $1145 without meds or blood tests. Ouch!! I've just changed my return flight to allow the extra hours for nurses apt with blood tests, walk to QFG building, the DS counselling and DS apt.
I'll leave home at 5.30 am and should get home at 11pm. A long day. At least after this apt there will be no stone unturned and I'll not be left wondering in my old age.
They have 3 blue eyed blonde SDs but they're American so $1250 for 1 ampules of sperm. If you cancel your cycle you have to apply for reimbursement to get the $1250 back. The DS aspect is flipping expensive.
If I decide to draw the line on my OEs and focus on CT then I can cancel all the extra apts for the day at no extra cost. It's $575 for the DS 1hr counselling apt and 30min apt with the DS staff member, to access their online SDs..so it would want to be refundable if after chatting with Wazza the decision was DEs!
On the upside I just extended my airport car parking by 3hrs and got refunded $1! I'll take a win where I can get it!!

Ta for the meds tip @Gagingi. I really appreciate it, esp when entering a whole new different system. I have an inkling l'll be dashing from one apt to the next without time to catch my breath. I might take my wad of scripts and have them filled in Melb, that way I have time to think clearly and don't lose sight of my Zen-ness! Ta again. xx

@Tahli wow the SD price has gone up again. In Dec14 it was $950 for the American one and then the following year went up to $1150. That's a big jump again!! So pricey. If you do choose one of them you can view on Xytex and get a lot more info, more photos and audio interviews etc. best of luck with your wazza app and your DSs appointment.
@Billie2 fingers crossed its all good Monday but the signs are promising.
@BlondeinBrisvegas can you put me down for a DE cycle in October please? Thanks so much

    Default IVF over 40 #35

@Tahli wazza is worth the hassle. He's entertaining too lol. Everyone in his office , receptionists and nurses are beautiful people too. At least you've heard "it" from him. Agree with Gagangi on the meds down stairs -total rip off! However the coffee at the cafe is pretty good lol! Not that I drank it cycling but have enjoyed it after bfn!! Fish and chips were pretty alright too lol!!

Hi can I join your group I'm currently over 40 and in my 2ww with 2 embies with Primary IVF - I'm on the Primary IVF thread too. I've just gone cross eyed trying to read a months worth of pages for this thread and still have not much idea of what's going on with who as it moves so fast.

just a question .... Has there been many successes that anyone recalls recently for pregnancies with own eggs as it seems most have turned to donor eggs once your on the other end of 40.

Hiya and welcome @Jazzabelle13 it moves fast but it's easy once you get to know everybody. The other girls can answer your question question I can only think of Gagangi and blonde in brisvegas off the top of my head.

Thanks @Billie2 for introducing me to this group (twice!) and for turning me on this morning with the yummy back/front doors details!! Bahaha you'll never cease to crack me up and I was picturing you half lying down at your desk, trying to keep everything in there.... Oh God the things we do hey! More srsly, hope those pessaries do the trick, BT on Monday seems like an eternity to wait!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been through the hundreds of pages of your 35x threads (Impressive!) but you ladies seem to be a solid bunch of warriors. Billie kept telling me about the quality ppl in this group and the wonderful knowledge sharing (what I'm after).
Although I'm not in my 40's yet, I'm nicely getting there, and have been told in a lovely manner by my FS that I'm responding like a 40+ yo... So? Do I qualify??

I'm not gonna bore you with my journey which is in my signature anyway.
Let's just say I'm a poor responder, never had frosties, going fresh cycle each time with a few eggs to play with. I'm about to embark in a 5th fresh cycle, with no excitement whatsoever.

After a 3rd failed cycle in a row I decided to think outside the box and try new things: I started Dhea 2 months ago and really hope it's gonna show some results... Also wanted to try E2 priming last cycle, but FS said no. Instead she put me on the highest dosage of Puregon, which was completely useless.
I'm seeing her next week to plan imminent next cycle, and will push for E2 priming again.
At this stage, I have nothing to lose and I'm ok to experiment. I understand the risks and accept them.
No point repeating same protocol over and over again imo.

If I learnt one thing about IVF so far, is that FS are not wizards and you gotta educate yourself and help design your own protocol. At least with me and Billie's clinic. Knowledge is power and I'm so keen to learn from you ladies.

If anyone is willing to share anything at all regarding Dhea and/or E2 priming, good or bad, please do so! Those 2 things are my last hope, my backup plan. After that, I have nothing left, no more ideas...

Thanks for reading and wishing everyone a great weekend! X
