    Default Child psychologist Perth

How would I find a really good child psychologist in Perth? I don't want to go to the doctors and get a referral for anyone the doctor recommends. I want to research it and get reviews from other parents on that doctor etc but don't know where to start. We have always had issues with ds1 and think he may have adhd so hubby and I want to go talk to someone, get him assessed and be taught ways to manage his behaviour, how to be a better parent for him etc.
    Thanks!

A good place to start might be the document PMH publish of the child psychologists in private practice. It lists areas of specialty. Then you could go from there.

Another really good way is to join an Australian Facebook support group for ADHD and ask for recommendations through there.

If you want your child assessed for adhd, you'll need to see a paediatrician for the diagnosis but a psych will definitely help with the management side of it. As far as recommendations go, LADS WA are a great support service for families dealing with adhd, I'm sure they could recommend someone (they are based in nedlands). Otherwise see if you can get in touch with your school psychologist and ask for a recommendation, they are likely to know of a few good practitioners in your area.

I don't know of too many working north as I am based SOR when I'm at work but I do know that there are a few psychs at Dr Clair Lawson and Associates in subi who specialise in working with kids. I've dealt with a few people from this practice and they have all been excellent so that could be a good place to start - http://www.lawsonpsychology.com.au/o...-psychologists
