    Default Diy iui

    Hi All,

Has anyone had success doing at-home IUI (ie "turkey-baster method")?

Also, approx what volume of semen does DH produce?

I was going to do this until I read up big time. At the clinic they spin the sperm so it's pure. If u inject in straight into your uterus straight from dh (as in past the cervix) it can cause big pains in the tummy and be dangerous some how . Just google it because some do it some don't.. Just what risk u are prepared to take

We just tried injecting into the vagina, not directly into the uterus. I'm assuming that the chance of success is the same as if we DTD normally.

Has anyone been successful using this approach?

@shadowangel0205 - DH has difficulty 'finishing' when we DTD. Sometimes he gets there, sometimes not. We only have one chance each month & if he doesn't get there it's a whole month before we can TTC again. This cycle we are trying a 'hands on' approach to it. I was wondering if there were any BFP's from this TTC method, or if we're wasting our time.

Ah ok. Sorry to hear, it just seemed an unusually method if dh was there. ..i hadn't considered the possibilities.

I know of one lady who used a similar method. She put the goods into a menstrual cup and put it in place then i think done the bum on a pillow thing
