    There are nests?!?!

I picked this up today - it's a new one for me. It took about 4 berries and 6 great balls (it kept breaking out!). Have no idea if it was worth it lol but once I started I wasn't giving up until I had it.

    Now off to google nests.

Earlier today an egg hatched with the usual "oh?". Clicked on it then nothing happened and I revert back to the map screen.
Went into my pokemons and no new Pokemon. Checked on my eggs and yes, one less egg.

    Grrrr

You can but don't need to. I'm level 15 and haven't spent any money - and have no intention either! If you visit the poke stops you will get everything you need to play the game (poke balls, potions to use in battles, lures, eggs etc...). You also get items when you level up.

You can get coins to spend in the shop for free by leaving your Pokemon at a gym that is your team colour (red, yellow or blue). You can join a team and use gyms once you hit level 6.

I just did a 4km with mine and DHs phone. So many things appeared on his and nothing on mine! And I hatched 3 eggs for him. All my Pokemon nearby are all 3 steps and I never seem to get closer. Put incense on and they all stay away! Maybe because I'm a lower level?

The kids got that one today. They have about 18 now I think. We went for another walk around the bllock and they snared a few each on my phone.

Ok so we're finally making some progress with the game. Level 6 now. When we get to a gym and try to battle what do we do?

@caketin incense doesn't necessarily get nearby pokemons to come closer (from what I read).
What matters with the nearby option is to check where in the list the Pokemon is. The one at the top left are the closest and the one at bottom right are the furthest. So walk in different direction and see if their position are moving towards top left. If it is you are getting closer!!

I feel pretty clever for having dropped a strong Pokemon at a gym this morning. The gym is in a smaller zoo and won't get much traffic until the wkd. Plus it's closed all night so my spot is safe until 10am
Unless a zoo keeper is a player from the opposite teams

Ok so tell me about the gyms. What Pokemon do I want to drop there? And why? Do I get it back? Lol
