I'm not trying to curb free speech, c'mon. It's that I simply believe that this type of conversation you or SK believe needs to be opened is actually one of the reasons terrorism attacks happen, not get stopped. These types of conversations breed hate, spread ignorance, and help create more disillusionment and isolation among a whole people--which is the problem that organizations like IS feed off of. Because I am scared of something like what happened in Nice happening again is the reason I believe we should ensure the RIGHT conversation is happening. Not giving people like Trump or Hansen or IS more fuel.
It just generates fear even further. Which is not what anyone needs right now
And I think the point needs to be made that France isn't seeing these attacks because of immigration, it is seeing these attacks because it has a vast majority of its Muslim population living in poverty and experiencing racism, a perfect breeding ground for angry individuals that turn to IS.

Part of me wants to say "sure, let's have the awkward conversation" and then ignorant people can be better educated. BUT the rational part of me is well aware you can't convince some people, even when you have all the facts that don't support them (think global warming)
If you think my statements are ridiculous, I would encourage you to reexamine your own regarding the Muslim population in Australia.
