I get that you're frustrated, but how is belittling others and being condescending helpful at all? Gosh the whole world is just one great big slinging match, isn't it. Social media makes me sad lately!

I think you've missed the posts where we were belittled and I was accused of being blinded by my anger and told to go watch Gandhi. Often these comments come after a long series of exchanges where people are insulted and even called nazis for holding views.

I agree it may not be appropriate but you need to appreciate the context. Many of us were trying to rationally explain our positions only to be insulted. That doesn't also make you sad?

Someone's called Godwin's law. Waleed Aly said spread the forgiveness. I think we should all just stop and go back to growing babies in the belly or raising children instead of debating whether or not Sonia is picking on a very specific group of people namely Muslims.
On my part with the little power that I have and the fact that I have an immigrant voice (which means generally no one cares that I have an opinion) I've boycotted Channel 9 because
    - Karl and Lisa think they didn't get nominated for Logies because they were white and said it out loud on their show
    - channel 9 paid for the abduction of a child overseas
    - Sonia "freedom of speech" Kruger

Go back to your children and teach them well. Accept that everyone is different and has different standards and we must forgive one another in order to keep living together.

    Xx

One big difference is that Australia is an island with actual physical borders.
Immigration control is pretty strong and I can't see terrorist flying into the country or any other way under false passports without getting caught.

Whereas France has no border controls and terrorists - people who were already flagged as such by the authorities - are able to get in under fake identities through other countries at the EU border.

So yeap I don't think the risk for Australia is from people coming from overseas. The risk might be from people getting radicalised on their own behind their computers... Australia born and Australian raised and from any religion.
Did you know that French people fighting in France used to be Catholics, Jewish or Muslims? ISIS get its recruits from any religion, they don't care, they just need lonely angry young people ready to die for stupid ideas.

Oh and the other important difference is gun controls. Australia should be very proud of that.
