    Default Evening Primrose Oil

I have a bottle ready to go and wanted to hear some experiences. Currently 35w1d.

Who took it at the end of their pregnancy? When did you start? How did you take it? How long after starting dos you go into labour? What was your birth like?

First pregnancy: started 37 weeks, 8 hour labour at 40 weeks, took orally and inserted pricked capsule nightly.
Second pregnancy: started 36 weeks, 2.5 hour labour at 40 weeks, took orally (from 36 wks,) and both oral & inserted capsule from 37 weeks.

Think I swallowed 1 daily with my first and I know with my second I took 1, 3 times a day.

Wow! Definitely didn't seem to make you go "early".

It's not meant to make you go early. I went on time at 40 weeks but I did have beautiful easy labours. EPO ripens and softens the cervix and therefore helps to decrease the length of labour which it definitely did for me.

I wasn't sure how quickly it softens it though. Meaning if I start now, it sounds unlikely I'll go before 37w

I think I started it around 36 weeks and upped my dose as I went. Started taking it orally and then vaginally from 38 weeks. Went into labour at 39 weeks although it was a long labour! I don't think that was because of the EPO though

MW is easy breezy and doesn't think it would do any harm.

I'm hoping I'm in for a short labour. First was 6 hours from first contraction.

Good luck I reckon you'll be in for a quick birth then! I'm 15 weeks with my third and considering home birth as I doubt I'll make it anywhere in time!
