Default iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab?

Been saving for a while and finally getting to the point where I will be able to purchase a decent tablet.

There's the iPad of course. Looking at the Air2.
And then there's the Samsung Galaxy. Looking at the S2.

All comments welcomed as I'd like to be able to make a wise purchase from people who've actually used the devices.

    Thanks so much

I have both, and hands down i prefer the IPad Air2. I like the apps better and im not sure it's because i have a iphone but it's pretty much like using a big iPhone, it's super easy to use.

I agree, our Samsung doesn't get used at all. The iPad is so much easier for us.

I love my iPad. But we are also an apple house. Both DH and I have iPhones, MacBooks and we also have Apple TV connected to both our TVs. Is your phone apple or android? They don't have to be the same of course but sometimes it's easier if they can 'talk' to each other, you can share apps, photos etc across devices more easily.

We have always gone android so always Samsung. I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to use an iPhone. My son has taught both my parents to use a galaxy tablet(it's been great me not having to sit there and explain it to them)

We have a Samsung galaxy tab.

My only issue is you aren't supposed to use it while charging. We did and within the first 6 months the battery is so shot it needs to be plugged in to charge all the time now. It's not quite 12 months old now and we might get 15 mins usage without power.
