Default Any experiences with primary IVF #4

hello @Billie2 yep i fall into that category, my referral has expired..

Hi @Cantw8ttobmummy, I also had a little higher then normal Amh level. Did the gp explain why you were put on metformin?

Metformin isnt just used for diabetes, it can be also used for ladies with pcos for ovulation (im sure someone else will be better at explaining it). I wasnt put on it so dont know to much about it

@Cantw8ttobmummy I was put on metformin years ago for my pcos and insulin resistance but couldn't take it as it played up with my digestive issues sooooo much.
It decreases the circulating insulin and it turn decreases the androgen levels. Hope this helps.

@Cantw8ttobmummy I wasn't on it long enough for it to do anything I don't know my exact numbers but my actual blood sugars were fine I just had to use more insulin therefore insulin resistance. Metformin works by keeping down the sugar in food, keeping down the sugar excreted by the liver and makes the insulin your body produces to work better. The less insulin in you blood ****** your other hormones should work better, since metformin does not increase the insulin in your body it should not lower your blood sugar to a level where it would be low or hypo. Hope this makes sense

    Belated welcome @Emmy85
I hope the tww has been kind to u and embie is doing well in the oven. It must be poas time soon @Giraffez.. did u end up triggering with ovidrel? @Cantw8ttobmummy - I don't have any answers to ur question about having a baby to heal pcos. I guess being pregnant is a huge reset button on ur body. It's definitely a hormone overload but the heavy bleeding after birth would normalise everything back to the way they should be. But like I said, I dont any experience hun.
It's good to hear you're on metformin. Hopefully it will lower ur insulin levels and regulate ur cycles.
If u're having nausea from metformin, may I suggest taking it in the morning? Once u increase ur dose, have the larger dose in the AM and smaller dose in the afternoon/ evening.

Sorry I haven't been on ladies.. been really busy with work. We're due for an accreditation and its been flat out. Also have a old staff come back into the section and she is giving me grief- stubborn and wont take directions from anyone

Afm- I'm 8w+2days today and everything going well. @jodihon.. I don't have nausea ans the lack of symptoms makes me worry when I allow myself time to dwell but my boobies are sore as hell, so that's reassuring. Ive been tempted to do another sneaky BT too ..haha.. old habits are hard to break.

Hope everyone else has been good and I'm thinking about u all who are still going. Xx
