Default Any experiences with primary IVF #4

Welcome to the newbies @jodihon, @SimSam8 and @hope123! Nice to have you join us!

Yay yay @jodihon, hope you get that fantastic call today to give you the green light! Time flies with all the action!

Wow, that's an awesome 100% rate @SimSam8! Go go embies! Hope you get the most awesome news today. Another lady joining the tww soon! :babydust:

@hope123, I think the tests have to be within the last 6 months and I would say just bring everything you have for the GP. If there's anything they need, the GP will give you referrals for them. In general, you see the GP 2-3 times before you get a referral to see the FS I think. Depending on the cycle days etc, if you are required to do BTs, then your cycle day pretty much determine how fast it can go but based on our experiences at Sydney, it's not too long a wait given there are less admin hoops to jump through. Hopefully they aren't super busy these days. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes!

PS: I remember whole lots of BTs for me (CD3-5, CD21 or something), semen analysis for hubby, and general BTs for hepatitis, etc I think. It's been almost 9 months since I did those so someone with more recent experience might remember better!

    Thanks @VickyP
Do you know if you have to use their clinic in the city to have all blood tests and scans? Or can this be done anywhere- i.e. closer to home?

    thanks

@hope123 I was able to do the blood tests anywhere so long as they were owned by primary (for Melbourne that was Dorevitch) but just check when their courier leaves! I did one test at 7am in the morning but the courier didn't leave til 12pm so Primary didn't get the result til late afternoon!! I found another one where the courier left at 9.30am so have been using them since. With my ultrasounds I again was able to do it at another clinic but only again because they were owned by Primary and Primary IVF had used them in the past and we're happy with the time frame they got the results in by. You would need to speak to the nurse about this. Hope that helps!

Most of us feel the same way @jodihon! But that's all part of an amazing, challenging and emotional journey. We will be here cheering you on! Yay to starting! Woohoo!
@hope123, I think the tests can be done anywhere. For most of us, we pop into Laverty at Primary in Sydney but I think any Laverty is fine. If you particular path labs you want to get a referral for, I'm sure they can do that for you as well. Just ask the GP! A few other ladies may be able to comment further since they have had to travel up quite a bit to Sydney too!

@jodihon, my numbing cream was this thing called DH. I was too chicken to jab myself so had the man in the house do the job. Plus part was I got cuddles after usually. Haha. Some ladies say that using ice at the injection site will work but I have found it to make little difference. I think the second jabs were harder. I had Puregon first and that was pretty easy - just pricks.

Transfer complete today 2 2day embies onboard, one okay looking one and an extra One but not much hope of survival as was looking messy, was supposed to b 3 day transfer but as they only do transfer on mon wed and fri, it was at two days. Managed to get some acupuncture straight after hope it helped but I'm not feeling overly confident.
The other two are grown on to Day 5, but the specialist didn't hold much hope they would make it as they were highly fragmented.

The good news is I didn't drop a large bundle of cash, it takes some of the sting out of it.
