@Heyside congrats on your lining, it's always a good feeling when the cycle gets off to a good start!
@Billie2 congrats on being PUPO!! I hope the 2ww goes quickly.
@Lucky8 fingers crossed for your test results! I haven't posted on the Greek thread yet but heading there myself in Sep/Oct so I have read all the old posts!

I also decided on Greece as I have olive skin, brown eyes and hair and in fact when I visited Greece and Spain previously they always assume I'm local and start conversing with me! Very embarrassing at times. We definitely have some Mediterranean blood in the family just not sure where it came from! I spoke to Dr Nikos on the phone so he hadn't seen me and he asked if I wanted a blonde blue eyed Danish male donor.....I said ermm no...he said but your Irish!!! I think he thought I was a little cray cray, but I told him wait and see my pics!! I also loved the Greek people I met and the SA donors just didn't seem to fit my own profile. I think it's a gut instinct as to what's right for you once you start researching 😊
@Bradders yes i know what you mean about getting that 'feel'. And like you, ive never met a greek person who i didn't like, or have me in stitches laughing 5 seconds after I starting to talk to them. I keep thinking about having a little Con the Fruiterer baby or little Effie and Jimacco Acropolis Now twins. Lol. Oh and with the choice of Athens, DH had just said he had no probs having a baby with me using someone else's eggs but he wasnt going to go to south africa (he doesnt get out much n thinks we would be murdered on the tarmac or eaten by tigers) I was gonna tell him that Cape Town is not like Johannesburg and there are no tigers on the African continent but i decided not to rock the boat coz i wanted to go to greece anyway.

@Blossom74 If you were in Sydney Id send DH over, he is a mechanic. Ever thought about 'go fund me' or something similar? I cant think of the website. Ive seen couples fundraising for IVF on there. Id donate. Anyone affected by IF would. Its not just the primary issue of infertility, there's secondary, the $'s, our health, losing friends.. xx

    Morning ladies!
Once again, my brain is ticking.

Who has used DHEA and thinks it works for egg quality?

    Did it work?
I have taken Melatonin since February and honestly I think it makes no difference however it makes me sleep really well!!! I love that aspect of it!!!!
I have some DHEA here, took it for about 3 wks (yeah i know meant to be 3 months to see a change) and am considering taking it again but for the 12 weeks.

@Tinachris I took it and had 2 worst cycles after it, I also took saizen- human growth hormone on one of those cycles ($2000) and then had nothing to transfer. Some people swear by it, my FS at the time said it works for about a quarter of women, and who's to know if it was part of the negative effect on me but it's my experience with it. I think the thing is that if any of those things (melatonin etc) worked for everyone they would know by now and everyone would be prescribing them. My FS thought the only thing with real merit was coq10. But even that didn't work for me!

@Charlie74 yes they can find blonde and blue eyed ladies pretty easily. There are lots of them in greece to and greece is very multiculturallike australia. Maybe if you were like 6 foot tall nordic, like finnish icelandic really white blonde it might take a little longer. But im sure ive read other ladies saying they can. I know in italy and malta certain regions have large populations of blonde blue eyes ladies, i think greece is the same. :-)

@Tinachris My 3rd round the changes were CoQ10 as @tuxcat mentioned ($10 at chemist), and the Luveris. That is all that I can contribute to getting a blasty and frosties. Had neither before this round. Ive heard the DHEA has some hell side effects, but none of that would bother me if it was new hope. My FS told me that nothing can help egg quality but prescribed Luveris anyway. Any changes made always provides new hope & energy.

I see a few have Mediterranean skin envy on this site ! I believe the donors available are from all over Europe not just Greece so the net is cast very widely for Iakentro which appealed to us .

My husband was not too keen on SA , CT either @gorgeousgeorge . even Lynn b our FS in Aust spoke highly of their quality of service in SA . We both agreed Greece was way more fun for us ... & it did not disappoint .
@Bradders although I am of Italian descent when in Italy people think I'm Spanish as my hair is so dark . My husband who is very fair & lean , is taken for an Italian go figure . what he wears might be a bit euro eg polo tops , boat shoes etc . He spends his life on the water ( hiding from the Sun of course with white zinc cream covering his face )

You should see the expression on his face when the Italians speak to him .

@Blondeinbrisvegas I too have the image in my head of @gorgeousgeorges principal .

    Too funny ladies .

I took it for 4 months before my last cycle. Did not make a scrap of difference. If anything, it was one of my less successful cycles.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your support. The car is now at the garage after being towed last night and they are conducting an assessment on it as we speak. The Husband is now away for a couple of days for work (travelling with his boss, thank God) so it's up to me to visit the car yard and find out what's wrong, how long it will take to fix, and how much it will cost. The main suspect ATM is the fuel pump, which to replace would cost us about $1,200 plus labour. We don't have that sort of money, especially after having the vet bills last week. The only place I can pull it from is the IVF fund. I can't remember who said it, but it sucks that life should come down to having a baby or.....

Working from home today and for the rest of the week. Not much else newsworthy happening. Feeling a bit sad and overwhelmed TBH. I feel like we have been under so much stress and so much financial strain for so long now and the light at the end of the tunnel just gets further away each day.

    Good morning everyone
@TINAChis but still hoping for you!

    @Lucky8 praying for your BFP

@tuxcat so great your DH is positive - I find that helps me so much too!

@MissDa - praying you have a response from your ad very soon!

@midnite01 I do hope you get an unexpected amazing result on Thursday.

@Blossom74 how annoying - stupid car! It is so unfair that $ adds additional stress to an already crazy journey! I hope it's not the $1200 bill you expect!!

@gorgeousgeorge wow - you would be an amazing teacher to have! Such passion for your calling! Lovely to hear that!!!

Thinking of you all ladies -
