Its actually a form of mastisis BUT it is not caused by pregnancy or breast feeding as I never have had a baby. I am just an unfortunate small minority of women and men who get them. On the positive side I was getting worried it may have been cancer so its a relief to not be that. The symptoms can mirror it. It also explains my extreme moodiness of late. Crazy hormones.

Oh, I feel your pain hon. If you remember I had an open milk duct that became infected not long ago and you're right, the pain is quite exquisite. Not only that, but it's also bloody unfair since we have never nursed a baby before. Painful reminder, anyone? Big hugs to you hon

@BlondeinBrisvegas thanks for the article. Our first appointment with FS was devastating - he basically said - you're too old and have ZERO % chance of success. Looking back - he was right but in a 10 min appointment which cost a fortune that was just not the best way to talk to us. And as that clinic didn't do embryo transfer or egg donor or anything else they didn't tell us about anything else! I learnt more from a nurse in the area and then on this forum!

Anyway.... we've booked our flights - Sept 14th in Greece! So this is our last leg of the journey - excited and scared and happy and sad..... hmmmm praying to hold a little baby at the end of this!! I wish everyone the best of luck and science/medicine!

Thanks ladies, I was onto the breast infection pretty quickly as I have had it before as soon as the pain started and the fever hot sweats I was at the doctors door. @Blossom74 I know mines similar to what yours was a blocked duct. Both doctors mentioned that and the mastisis so who knows I know mine is definitely hormone related and of course it must be linked to the IVF medications as there is nothing else. They told me to go back if it didn't clear by Thursday it cleared up within 2 days of the antibiotics. Which brings me to me next thought process do any of you ever worry about the IVF meds causing cancer or other serious illnesses later on down the track?
@gorgeousgeorge thank you it has been a bit of a battle for me thus far, but in saying that I haven't transferred any of my DE's yet so who knows I'm hoping that if I do get to transfer point it will be a happy result. We have most of the ingredients we are just trying to get the measurements right... Your are right though it is always good to have a plan B, C and D and you know what you probably won't even need them but they are good to have. PS BIB is our (well mine anyway) lazy way at avoiding spelling out her whole profile name, your right it should become an acronym

Sounds like a lot of ladies travelling to Greece soon/ish. I hope it all goes very smoothly for you and you have a nice little holiday as well as an influx of BFP's.

Today is rainy in Townsville the DH and I are going out for lunch to a nice little wood fire pizza place. Hope everyone has a good week x

@Bongleyly congratulations on your baby!! @Maxwellsmum some surrogacy agencies in Canada have a freeze on international patients/parents at the moment because of popularity of needing surrogate and lack of surrogate. We are currently investigating Ukraine. I know that sounds alarming but as i look into it more and meet more ppl it is becoming a little more comfortable with us. Its also cheaper the Canada, thats not our sole reason but money is not as free flowing in this infertility game. Could have bought a unit with what we have already spent trying to get pregnant! Look at New Hope, Lotus and also google families through surrogacy, an Australian organisation providing info on different options. Sam is the co founder and is available to help. Xx

@Blossom74 don't worry, I'm not about to start douching, I just look at the size of the tube and think all that surely has to come out at some point?! Thanks for your advice. How is your lil cat going?
@Green lady any update? Has the bleeding settled down?

@Bongley. Big congratulations on Lo arrival. Hope you are all doing well

When we started we were given 20% chance. When we started trying for no 2, the chance has gone down to 5%. That was over the course of 4 years

@Bradders - Great to hear your appointment went well and you have a new plan in place and slso saving you money by not doing the testing you should hopefully get some lovely eggs and sperm from your donors that make beautiful embies x
@Maxwellsmum - Great that you got yiurself seen to asap and beet it with the antibiotics. It often crosses my mind how much I am exposing my self to the chances of cancer, I have generally been on the fertility drugs for 3 years now which is quite a long time and iften wonder what the hormones can be doing to me. It's scary but we are so determined to get that baby as an end result that we will do anything to succeed. My family has a history of cancer issues so I am very aware of the fact I am putting myself at risk.
Enjoy your pizza lunch sounds lovely x

What an uncaring and insensitive Prick!!! He didn't have to be so brutal in his delivery to you about it even if it was true!!! Should've told him to shove his consultation fee fair up his a r s e!!! (I know you would've been too shocked and distressed at the time to do that).

I'm so sorry you had to go through that experience Luv

Sept 14 will be here before you know it, then it'll be off to Greece you go to pick up your baby/ies!!!
