Well done hon, you matched my best cycle - 2 from a grand total of 3 eggs

I'm so happy for you and hopefully they are both strong little embies

Sorry to ear you're unwell though. I've found since doing IVF my health in general has declined. At first I thought it was just getting older but in the space of 2 years I've developed crippling indigestion, sore joints (shoulders, hips and knees being the worst), digestive issues (common buts of gastro) and all other lurgies. Not good

I made your scones today. . Bit of a fail as I think I over mixed. Well I don't think it I know it. Will try again tomorrow. Won't post pic today either

Oh dear, better luck next time hon. Remember to bring the ingredients together just barely in the bowl, and when you tip them out onto your bench top press together and then knead only 10 times, and gently at that

There is some evidence that the thickness of the endometrium may be associated with poorer outcomes following IVF. For example, a very thin endometrium may be associated with a slightly lower pregnancy rate. A thicker endometrium on the other hand has been associated with higher pregnancy rates following IVF but also with an increased rate of placenta previa, a condition where the placenta is attached too low in the uterus. This happens in 1 in 250 naturally conceived pregnancies.
This project is investigating the subtle muscle contractions of the uterus known as “uterine peristalsis” during the time of implantation of a fertilised embryo into the uterus. It is thought that these contractions may be more prominent in women with a thicker endometrium. Although we don’t know for sure, these contractions may have the potential to shift the embryos into a different spot than where it was deposited. Our study hypothesises that the thickness of the endometrial lining is related to these contractions; i.e. the thicker the endometrial lining the higher the frequency of the contractions.
If a relationship between the thickness of the endometrium is linked to the uterine contractions it could potentially explain why embryos sometimes implant low in the uterine cavity or in rare circumstances end up implanting in the fallopian tube as an ectopic pregnancy. Additionally, this may lead to future studies looking at screening for and potentially treating higher risk women with medications to decrease uterine muscle activity at the time of transfer.
Recruitment for this study is ongoing and is offered to patients receiving treatment at our Clayton clinic.
@Tahli - this is very interesting. I had Valium 2 hours prior to transfer to stop the potential contracting. My lining was quite thick - 10.1 mm on CD 12 which was the day before my LH surge. I am particularly worried about an ectopic - tubal or Caesar scar ( because my scar has deshisence).

Ladies I literally have not been out of bed for more than the time it took to go to the loo or grab more Panadol, cough syrup or strepsils in the last 24 hours. This second bout of cold has hit me for six. I reckon it's the culmination of over a year of ivf flat out and steroids etc suppressing my immune system. I'm supposed to start it all again soon and worried this is a bad omen.

Oh no Luv!!! You poor thing it sounds bloody awful!!!

Don't think of it as a bad omen ok?? It's more likely just bad luck that you've gotten ill right in the middle of frigging winter not once but bloody twice now FFS's!!!!

The way I see it is that it's better that you're sick now than in the middle of a Cycle. By the time you're ready to start again, you'll be 100% and raring to go!!!

    Feel better soon Luv

@Tinachris take care and I hope you feel better tomorrow, if you are still feeling crappy you might want to ring your clinic just to let them know. 2 fertilised is great!

@Caesardust you poor thing, I hope you start to feel better tomorrow, it sucks feeling so bad. Also remember you don't have to do the steroids, if you don't feel your body is up to it then don't do it. Take care xx
