I am only 5 weeks 2 days and I know a scan would be inconclusive at this point and just leave me in limbo. Has anyone experienced spotting like this at this early stage and it ended up ok?

Luv...there could be plenty of reasons for the spotting ok??

First thing that comes to mind is your cervix being irritated from the pessaries/Crinone.

Lots of the Lovelies have experienced this as unfortunately for some reason spotting is really common in IVF pregnancies, so as hard as it is, try not to panic and automatically think the worst.

If there's no uncomfortable cramping/that's getting worse and the bleeding isn't increasing, then chances are good it's just irritation to your cervix, a possible SCH or your emby snuggling further into your lining etc and not anything sinister.

Stay off your feet anyway Luv and go and have another BT for peace of mind if you're really anxious/concerned. Am sure all is well

thanks@BlondeinBrisvegas - I guess if I did a blood test and HCG hasn't been doubling at the right rate since last week or has dropped, at least I will know what's happening. I'm not religious but I think I'll start praying.

@Green lady I had some spotting which is what let to my thrush diagnosis. Was kind of egg whitey streaked through with red blood. I know its easy to say but do try not to worry, spotting is very common in IVF pregnancies. If you think a BT would help ease your mind then go and get one done and just try and take it easy and rest up

Oh sh!t @Green lady I really feel for you, so stressful. Some more bloods might help, it could well and truly be nothing to worry about but I know the uncertainty sucks xx

fwiw @Green lady from what I've read it sounds pretty common to have bleeding in early pg. especially from the crinone / irritation. try to rest up if you're worried. and maybe give your clinic a call for extra reassurance

congrats on being PUPO @Tinachris. it all sounds good to me. good luck!

Hi green lady, I had spotting and then bleeding in the early weeks of pregnancy. I had started at 5 weeks 5 days, luckily my obs did scan then and found heartbeat and then I usually had bleeding very 2 weeks for the first couple of months. My dr said to me to call and come for scan when I had it, but don't panic as bleeding is quite common and it's not always a sign of m/c. Sometimes with that there is no signs. Not to upset or scare here, I'm trying to reassure!! Hope it's not coming across sounding wrong!!
I would usually go home and put feet up and was fine later that day. I even walked out of work one day about 20 min after I got there! Just rest today and maybe call dr. Fingers crossed for you xx

You haven't scared me@Lolly99 - thanks for sharing your experience. I will see what happens over night and in the morning and if it's still going I will contact my FS and see if it's possible to scan me this early. I guess I'm scared of an early scan as I've had a blighted ovum before and had the misery of inconclusive scans that started at 5 weeks and went on until 8 weeks.

@greenlady so sorry to read you have spotting it must be very stressful but as the other girls have said there are lots of reasons why you could be experiencing it and it could be something simple like the crinone. Really hoping it resolves itself hun xx
