Default Morphology Scan measurements - FREAKING OUT. Possible it's wrong?

I picked up my report for this scan today from my GP's office without seeing her to discuss as I'm seeing my OB for the first time tomorrow and wanted to have it on hand for him to look out.

I've got all the measurements for the various things they check, all the percentiles etc which I'm completely confused about - how do they work? What's normal etc.

But, I'm completely freaked out about the measurements "Cisterna Magna" and "Cerebellum". It says normal range for CM is 10mm. I'm 19!!! Which googling that can be just considered an error with the scan if all other measurements are fine, or it can mean some chromosomal issues etc.....

But the kicker is that the Cerebellum is 4mm! I google this and if I understand correctly it seems it should correspond with your weeks gestation. Ie It should be 18-20mm surely?

The report states: No structual abnormality or soft maker detected. Fetal biometry corresponds with dates.

Surely the Cerebellum couldn't measure 4mm without them making mention of it, same with the Cisterna Magna??

Could it be that the numbers have just been entered the wrong way around on the report? They are insanely abnormal entered this way, and would make for normal measurements in reverse.

Eff me this is stressful business!
Not sure what I'm expecting you to tell me, unless anybody is in the know. But I had to at least try to put my mind at ease before tomorrow.

Yep I've definitely heard of techs entering things the wrong way around. It sounds likely in your case! I would think if anything was up, your GP would have contacted you on receiving the results?

thanks Borntobe, you would think wouldn't you? Just too many processes to go through without advising me if anything was wrong. I.e u/s tech was saying all looked good on the day, report makes no mention, I'm assuming my doctor has seen it as generally when I call for results they can tell me whether it's been looked at or not opened yet....Here's hoping anyway.

I would say it sounds like they've entered data the wrong way around. The u/s techs know what they are looking for and will tell you if anything is a bit out of the ordinary so if there was a problem they would've mentioned it.
Try and relax a little until tomorrow, this whole baby growing thing can be stressful!

Thanks Balfour. I had a really relaxed pregnancy up until about 17 weeks. I've been so stressed and anxious ever since, finding it so hard to relax even though (so far) I've had a problem free pregnancy, I'm just not enjoying this at all.

Those reports are looks over by sonologists generally. I had a morph scan go pretty much as bad as it can and, trust me, you know if something terrible is happening. They call in the doctor to scan you again, they offer you an amnio. My report was two pages long and the conclusions always note abnormalities.

Would definitely say they wrote the wrong measurements. They picked up a small abnormality on mine and it was the first and last thing mentioned on my report x

That would have been a terrible experience Sally1981. Is that the 22week bub you refer in your signature? So sorry

Thanks Rainbow! I just had a brainwave to check the scan to see if those measurements are in there and they are, and they ARE reversed. Phew!!!

I'd say just wait for your appointment and don't google results on your report. As much as it might seem straightforward, you're not a radiologist and are stressing yourself out unnecessarily. It says everything is normal so go with that rather. As everyone says, if there was an issue you'd have heard about it. If it is recorded incorrectly then you can get answers at your appointment.

I did this once with a back MRI report, I was in tears thinking I had some sort of tumour and it turned out that it was something 75% of people have but is usually only found in autopsy because it's asymptomatic.
