Sadly it's what I expected, with all the emotive language and awful judgments. Now we watch all these religious nuts crawl out of their holes to brow beat the population into siding with them. I'm also wondering how this will all fit in with discrimination laws? And 'natural' marriage? Marriage, by design is not natural. Humans created and instituted it. We aren't born married. What is natural is love. And FWIW before I get pecked at, I'm fully aware that not all religious people hold these views. I know lots totally support marriage equality and don't bat an eye. Obviously we aren't referring to these people who actually live what they believe; love and acceptance.

It's the natural marriage comment that had me .

I agree with your assessment of marriage and love.

The only one enforcing anything on others is these bigoted nutcases! I'm so sorry Rainbow, I'm sickened and angry and I'm not even gay. I cannot believe the Libs have chosen this route.
I haven't been following the news...how have the Liberal Party followed this route? Isn't MT pro-marriage equality?

By putting it to a plebiscite/public vote there will be this sort of campaigning rubbish to encourage people to vote against marriage equality.

When this point was raised, Turnbull said he thought the country would have a mature discussion (or along those lines)

Eta - sorry I think he said 'respectful'.

There will, but I have every confidence that the overwhelming majority of Australians would vote yes. A good way to "put a sock in" the extreme-Religious Right.

Giving air-time to these knob-heads is part of being a free, "liberal", society. I always like when the public is consulted/allowed to vote on important issues.
