Oh and now it's swung the other way. Meh. I might just wait until they have finished counting.

I don't think they have 72 confirmed seats.... it's just still projected?
Edit - yeah the latest I read looks like it could be mid month because they'll need to count all overseas/postal votes for a change.

I have been using the ABC website. They tend to be *fairly* correct in their predictions.

According to the ABC, there are 8 seats still in doubt, the Libs have 70. They need 76.. or is it 77? Either way that's a big ask to gain 6 or 7 seats out of 8.

It's going to be a hung parliament I think.

Antony Green has predicted the government will probably get 75 seats. They need 76 for majority. He says 76 is less probable but could be possible.

I don't really care either way now. I think there's enough support from labor, greens and xenaphon in senate to negotiate for Gonski! That is all I want from this election

I'm reading far too many posts starting with "I'm not racist, but..."
This has shocked me as well! So many people I thought I knew better (and sadly even some of my relatives) have been banging on about how fabulous PH is. I'm genuinely shocked because I thought I knew these people and I also thought they had brains! Sad to say lots of Queenslanders who are saying she has been the only one to get out and listen to the real issues in rural and remote QLD. Never have I been more proud to be from NSW
