I was just reading about Pauline Hanson's "policies", which include a royal commission into the corruption of climate change science (because climate change ain't real, y'all) and an inquiry into Islam and whether it is actually a religion. (Muslim migration would be halted until the inquiry is finshed).

O.M.F.G. Has anyone done an MRI to check if she actually has a heart or brain?

God help us all if fringe-dwellers like Pauline are the future of Australian politics...

Each election I make my voting decision based on whose policy platform I believe will offer us, as a national and international society, the best future. If that's a different party from one election to the next then that doesn't worry me in the slightest.
Ditto to this. For the first time ever I have made a more informed vote based on what's best for me and my family. I did the vote compass survey and it was spot on. I don't even remember who I voted for last time, but this year I voted Labor because I feel that they are more focused on people in my position. Funnily enough I had already voted by post when I did the voting compass survey and it was still in line with who I voted for.

What did she say about anti vax and autism?

I'm still shocked that she got through.

    Default Election 2016

How does voting on bills in the senate work? The bill needs a majority vote right? as long as she doesn't have a balance of power, do her policies even matter? I'm genuinely curious.

ETA - though Fred Nile & Jacqui lambie have a lot of policies in common with her, so possibly with their combined forces they might have some power ...

Oppose the introduction of Sharia law? Well I'll be darned. Turns out I am the ignorant one, I had no idea Australia was planning to introduce it.

(Sarcasm in case someone thinks I'm serious).

I agree with some of her policies. I don't agree that welfare payments should be made to men with multiple wives. Bigamy is illegal here. If you can't show respect for Australian law why should Australian tax payers support you. Dont agree with Sharia law either.

Yep majority vote. Theres 76 senators (12 each state, 2 each territory). Based on what insiders was predicting for senate on Sun, the Coalition would either Labor, Greens or 9/10 of the micro parties. Where it might matter is what sort of deals they may need to do to get her support.

Eta - especially if they need her whole block for support
