I heard the greens have 2 in Queensland.

Xenophon is right on some things but he supports full gonski funding

DH and I are discussing this right now. Called an election to move those 2 bills through, and at best will keep govt but not have the numbers to pass them, worst they may lose.

And it's quite interesting seeing the polarisation of the swings to greens and ALP, but also Hanson.

Ah thats good about Gonski. I was unsure.

Yep I heard Greens will pick up another Senate seat in Qld although I heard their second one in SA is in doubt? Time will tell I guess.

I enjoyed the coverage tonight. Admittedly didnt watch the commercials where I understand the debate was a bit more heayed but the ABC has some of my favourite journos and Penny Wong is one of my favourite politicians and I thought her and ScoMo had some rather good debates.

Loved the ABC coverage. Have such a crush on Antony Green's brain and his ability to recall numbers and facts. Love a nerd ❤️

I am confused - with how the numbers are currently looking, how can Turnbull at this point claim that they will be forming a majority government? Surely it is far too close to call that (and spend the rest of his speech bagging out the opposition)

Pre polling and postal votes are more likely than not to go the coalitions way. So he only needs to get about 4 of those undecided seats over the line and he can form government.

It's happened before when Howard formed government despite Beazley winning more of the primary vote (not that Shorten won more of the primary vote in this election).

Elections are peculiar creatures. I don't think he can the but there are so many postal votes it's hard to know for sure.

Does anyone know why they don't count again until Tuesday?

Turnbull couldn't give an effective speech if his children's lives depended on it.
