For those who have been the recipient of a donor egg to create your family, or are in the process of donor egg cycles - I've just started up a thread for people to share their thoughts and decision making processes on Anonymous donations versus Known donations. I am in the process of making this decision at the moment, and to be able to hear people's own story and thoughts about this issue, I'm sure will give me valuable insights that will help me to become comfortable with whatever decision we eventually make. Appreciate everyones thoughts - the thread is here: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...did-you-decide
Thank you xxxx
Summer I was quite involved with several senior people on a FB group for egg donors before going overseas. They made me feel very guilty and selfish for considering an anonymous donor. It was my ivf clinic counsellor who made me realise having an anonymous donor was perfectly fine and that as long as I was honest with my child from early on the child would not suffer. She said having an egg donor was different for the future child than anonymous sperm donor.
Dr K also spoke about anonymity in the article I wrote in Good Health magazine. It has been anonymous in Greec for I think 10 years and that is the case as far as I know across Europe, excluding the U.K.
good luck with your decision, try to listen to your heart.
Hi @gorgeousgeorge I'm sorry I haven't been on the forum, but I did see today you had had your transfer. I wanted to wish you warm, motherly vibes. On my last transfer I knew from the beginning it had worked. Perhaps try not to project into the future and put your energy into growing the baby or babies inside you.
i will be thinking of you.
Summer just finished reading it and its pretty biased in favour of known donation. Left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth to be honest, just letting you know. However im glad i read it coz information is good even when its not what you wanna hear. Lol, i think it was written by the women that were mean to positano1 ;-)
