    @Lucky8 congrats on your safe arrival. I'll be reading everyday to see how you are going and thinking of you. I know we havent spoken personally on this thread yet but i hope everything goes well. Can i ask, Which clinic are you going to and are you doing donor ivf and if its not too personal, can i ask why you decided on athens overseas ivf and your fertility issues? I know you've probably written it all before, sorry. And just asking coz its good for me to hear other people's thought processes, but please dont feel obliged to discuss anything you dont want to. (Hoping you're the same as me so when you get a bfp, I'll be like, yeah it can happen for me too! :-) ) Take care and enjoy the weather, australia is freeeeezing today. Top temp of 6 degrees where i live...brrrrrrr....yuck! I wish i was in athens right now. 13 weeks to go.
    Are you Lucky8 because this will be your 8th transfer? Geez im a nosey parker today.

    @Juventina been thinking of you all day today xox it must be hard to read all the positive stuff on this thread when you have experienced such a big disappointment. Sometimes even donor eggs dont work first go. I remember a lady on here called positano1 who went back 3 times before she got a bfp with donor eggs. She was very unlucky but did get preggers in the end. I hope that you are taking it easy and being kind to youself at such a difficult time. xox

    @gorgeousgeorge

    Ask away . This is a brave new world for us the egg donation ride ! Im happy to help anyone not go through what We have experienced ..

    It was discovered only last year that I had a blood clotting disorder which may have explained not being able to keep any pregnancies going in the past . So after 5 years of recurrent miscarriages (accidentally naturally conceiving in between Ivf attempts that did not work ) I went to dr lyn Burmeister who ran further investigation into my blood . My sisters friend worked with dr lyn b to produce 2 healthy little boys so i thought what the heck I will try her !Basically with blood thinning medication ( as I have a dna mutation called mthfr c677t )& younger eggs in theory There is a better success rate . ( we are 46)Also my husbands swimmers are average & were told we could never conceive naturally - we did about 6 times !! Younger eggs & different eggs can sometimes be the difference between the sperm & egg working well together . A younger egg can fix in a way 'dodgy sperm' as my previous specialist called it !

    I ended up with a professor in Greece both known to my obstetrician & dr lyn Burmeister , who is looking after us through a combination of Genesis & iakentro Clinics . Lyn suggested a few options but I was not keen to travel to South Africa so Greece appealed to us .also I am of europe decent so was happy to travel closer to my roots ! My husband was open minded to it which has been amazing .Dr Stefanos Syrkos is a professor affiliated with Melbourne Uni . His communication as Lynn warned me about can be on island time but he responds when he can every few days . He is a surgeon so his hours can be a bit disjointed but I have faith in his experience & respect in the Australian fertility field .

    We are just on the way to Santorini for 6 nights& in this time taking the meds to build up lining & prepare for our meeting with dr Syrkos when we fly back into Athens in about a week .

    The hardest thing for me was to organize these meds , so many to take . I bought those daily pill containers so prepared a weeks worth divided by morning lunch evening so I don't have to think to much !

    About to jump on the plane to Santorini & well deserved rest for hubby & I .

    Feel free to ask , I have found this forum very helpful & will pay it forward

    Are you heavy tho. I had some bleeding and was put on bed rest one week. I now have miss Georgia. So stay possitive unless you had pregnal injections or similar...

    Hi Juventina,

    i had had a bleed at 8dp and then did a preg test and was a strong positive then did blood test at 10 dp and was very high hcg

    this weekend at 7 weeks I had another bleed went to hospital and they did a scan and the twins were fine heart beats perfect.

    so bleeding can be normal for some people.

    i wish you the best of luck
