Default Location of kicks at 18weeks

I'm 18w and 'flutters' have got a bit stronger now and I can almost certainly say it's kicks because if I rest my hand over the area I feel a slight bump.

My question is about the location of the movement. I feel it about 3-5 times a day, mostly after eating something sweet, when I'm relaxing at night or when I've been sitting still at my desk for a while. Every time it seems to be in my lower abdomen either left or right side, never in the middle.

Could this be related to the position of my placenta possibly cushioning the middle area? How much does baby rotate around at this stage? Would he/she be flipping from side to side, or completely turning upside down? Will know exact placenta position at anatomy scan in 2 weeks.

    Thanks!

I'm 17 weeks and have felt what I think are kicks for the past week. I have a posterior placenta but still only feeling the kicks on either the left or right side, never in the middle. So I don't think it matters. I don't know how my baby is positioned at the moment but last time I had a scan he/she was upside down. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure where the placenta is, but I'm 21 weeks and feel kicks mainly at the bottom right and left sides, not really in the middle of the tum so much.

Yep at that stage bub has so much room inside that they literally can turn somersaults. That will gradually change of course as they start to fill the space.

Had my 20w scan and she confirmed my placenta is on the front wall but is high up so that explains feeling movement low down but she did say it just cushions the kicks it a bit. Movements are slowly becoming more prominent a little higher up toward my belly button now but you can even see the lower part of my tummy move when baby kicks and of course great for my DH to be able to feel them now!
