I'm in a little bit of shock. I had my ultrasound this morning in preparation for having a d&c this afternoon. The sonographer is rather silent, expected silence because we knew it wasn't good news, she calls the doctor in to confirm things. When he confirms things he then tells us "you have two sacs and two heartbeats"! Blown away, I'm still high risk of miscarriage because they are measuring 1 week behind but I'm so confused now. There wasn't meant to be one heartbeat. I need to hang on to some hope things will be ok, just keep growing

Oh wow @kmvw how amazing and confusing all at the same time, what a roller coaster of emotions. I am really hoping this works out for you hun and your little bubbas are strong little fighters. So did you put two embies back I can't remember or did one embie split into 2? Good luck this all works out and they keep growing xx

Thank you for your eternal optimism @Heyside - I'm hoping that is the case. This was a frozen cycle, so I'm telling myself this little one needed a bit more thawed time to catch up.

My IVF journey to date has been far less painful than that of most, so I feel guilty even whinging about this. I'm sure I seem so ungrateful to some.

I don't know much about twins but maybe if your little embie has had to split and replicate itself that would naturally put them slightly behind developmentally. Hopefully now they will continue to grow and develop.
