I don't follow anyone. I find Twitter really annoying to be honest.

It's like anything. You follow who you're interested in. I'm on Instagram and I follow people who post fashion photos, food and Crossfit photos and photos of holidays I'll probably never go on.

I have it, and snapchat but I don't use them. The apps just sit on my phone...

Are you a fan of any actors or tv shows? Bands/musicians? That's a good place to start. I follow people like Nathan Fillion and Misha Collins on Twitter. They both interact with their fans and live tweet their shows from time to time.
I also follow Pittsburgh Penguins as they are my NHL team.
Try searching for things you are interested in and see what pops up.

I agree with this. Twitter is also a great way to interact with other fans of what you're interested in (books, actors, etc). I have made some really lovely friendships from people on Twitter and I have met a few IRL. I'm not on it as much as I used to but I check it regularly to see what's going on. I don't have FB or any other social media, so Twitter and Bubhub are my fun 'me' times
