I am dizzy... Can't lift my head up without the whole room spinning. DH is doing overtime at work and won't be home until late. DS2 is destroying the house - again.

I've checked out of today for that exact reason. Falling asleep at 5am when you are getting picked up at 6am for baseball = over it

feeling a bit lost and sad. dh has taken ds out for a boys catch up at a local cafe with another dad and his little boy. it's the first time dh has taken ds out without me. I feel irrationally anxious and sad to be away from ds, despite also really enjoying the respite. argh.

My eldest is nearly 11 and I still struggle with enjoying down time away from the kids. I'll be away from them for work, or things that in my head are "legitimate" but if I get a hair cut or something I race there and race home again. I don't think that feeing really leaves some people.

That's completely normal to feel sad. I still do even though I live for alone time!

    Default I am.....#17

thanks ladies! I kept giving dh instructions before he left, even stuff like "be careful crossing the road"

it's hard, this is their first outing together without me. I always feel like I know ds best and only I can care for him absolutely properly. this is probably a post that belongs in the anxiety thread really lol

I've been away from ds before and left him at home with dh but I feel different about dh taking him out of the house.

anyway I ended up enjoying my time alone, got a whole heap of work organized and done for a volunteer position I've taken on. so while it wasn't really down time, it was stuff I needed to get done and feel better for having been able to do it for 2 hours uninterrupted.
