On the train, my first day back at work after 14 months off. Feeling anxious and happy at once. DD was smiling away when I left her at daycare at 6:30 which made me feel less bad about leaving her there so early.

Thanks! I'Ve negotiated my return with four different people now, the first three got made redundant one by one after I'd sorted things with them

I have a feeling after a week they will realise they don't have anything for me to do and hand me one too (they wanted to extend my mat leave, which I did for a month but couldn't afford to any longer).

    Anyway, positive thoughts, positive thoughts.

I hope your DH finds another job (where they treat people better!) soon.

Is my own fault though. I have been using white noise and it ran out of batteries tonight. I refused to change them based in the fact that I stubbornly refused to believe DS2 relied on it to sleep. Turns out he does. And I really need to find a new white noise device that does not chew through batteries every 3-4 days. We don't have a spare iPhone or iPad to plug in.

I know others use white noise indefinitely but I really want to wean him off it. I can't see it working long term, holidays where we have to sleep in the same room, sleepovers at nanas etc.
Hi @sunnygirl79 - I've been using the Natures Direct - Air Revitaliser as a white noise machine. It runs on electricity. I just use water in it (the oils are pretty expensive so I only occasionally use them). It was recommended to me by the sleep consultant I used (she is not affiliated with Natures direct) but had a range of white noise machines/products decibel tested and this was one of the ones that was in a safe range for bubs ears.

It's definitely helped my DD, previously I used an app on my iPad when my DS was little but we no longer have a spare to use at night.

    Best wishes!

I am relieved my DS has stopped asking me to purchase him the ugliest effing clock I have ever seen at Australia Post. He almost went into full meltdown mode over it.

I am now not going anywhere. DS fell asleep on me (me, DD and DS all squashed onto the rocking chair!) and has declared he only wants to go to the coffee shop down the road. We will go there and to the park later.
