I am trying to work out why Michael Phelps having bruises from cupping makes the news?

Because the 3 people left in the world who had never heard of cupping were spinning out over it. And, slow news day.

I am freezing. Sitting in dd's room waiting for her to go to sleep and I'm too afraid to tap my toes just incase they break off my foot

I am horrified that my teenage DD got a Cosmo magazine in an Ekka showbag with a sealed section with reviews on "toys" specifically for backdoor action.

Hahahaha true true. My bruises from the one time I had it done looked more spectacular though. Maybe I'll make the news tomorrow?

what part is horrifying? that Cosmo would have a backdoor action toy review? that said Cosmo mag would be in a showbag? that she bought this particular showbag?

it must've been a showbag aimed at young women at least? surely Cosmo wouldn't have made it through into a children's showbag!?

More the fact that this magazine was in a showbag marketed at teens. She got it because she liked the bag it came in, not for the contents. Call me old fashioned, but in my mind if magazines are going to be included in showbags they shouldn't have sealed sections or the showbag should come with an age recommendation.

I'm also pretty unimpressed that DD left the magazine open at that particular page
and her much younger sister saw it, but that is more a parenting issue.

I think if you're giving something like a magazine away in a showbag it should be appropriate. I don't think this is particularly appropriate. It's different if you flick through the magazine and decide to buy it, but to put that particular issue in a showbag I think is a bit of poor choice.

Edited because tasteless was the wrong word to use.

I'm very much the same way as you. mothers group has been really good for me. I'm actually more social than I realised. organizing catch ups and our girly night out.

I've actually been more social on mat leave than I am in my usual daily life

go to a couple of sessions. worst case, there's nobody there and you walk away having gained not lost anything.

sometimes I find all the baby talk mind numbingly dull, but it's still wonderful to have the girls as a support group.

@gingermillie thank you SO much for thinking of me, that is really sweet of you

I'm doing ok, I still read along a bit here & there, but you're right, I haven't posted much for a while.

I'm doing ok, had a bit of a break from TTC this year - DH & I haven't been great & almost separated. I went to Bali for work & stayed almost a month & we seem to have sorted things out now - he got the message that I was considering not comIng back. I never thought we'd be a couple that got to that point, but with the loss of five babies, five IVF cycles that didn't even get to EPU due to only one egg each time, such bad reactions to the IVF meds that I got very, very sick which then meant that I couldn't run my business properly so that failed & I lost my income & during that time I had several supposedly close friends turn on me & do the exclusion bullying thing when I was at my lowest. So to say our marriage has been under pressure would be an understatement

Right now things are going along ok, I'm just figuring out what's next with regards to work & my business. DH & I have turned the corner & if we are feeling solid in a few months then we'll look at DE options.

I wish you all the best with your family too - I don't think you've had an easy time of it lately, hugs
