    Default Is it a sign?

    Hi everyone,

My husband and I are currently trying to conceive. I know it is only days but I want to know if it is just me getting my hopes up or if I am really pregnant! Just after others experiences/advice!!

To start with I've been having very light nausea the last few weeks and cramping pains. However my period came (2 days late). I took a test when it did not come but was negative. My period was only about 2 1/2 days and very light. Several days later and I have light spotting. Is this a sign or just an unusual period?

Thanks for your help and advice!

The only way to know would be to test again.

Edit: clicked post too soon sorry. Some people certainly do get light bleeding while pregnant so it is possible.

Agree with BettyV, take another test, since it's past the time your period was due, it should come up as a positive right away if you are pregnant.

Have you just come off birth control? Sometimes in the few months after coming off the pill you can get unusual periods (heavier or lighter than normal, varying cycle lengths etc) until the hormones in your body even out.

Hey I went off the pill this year. My periods have been bang on 28 days all year though. This has been the first unusual one.

    Hi Chlowey,

The best thing to do if you still haven't got your periods (period is late 2-3 days) go to your GP and do a pregnancy test.

Otherwise take a home pregnancy test.

Spotting, nausea is a sign of pregnancy but to be sure do the above test at your GP clinic.

    best of luck

Hmm, could just be an odd cycle (I had a couple of those - AF usually quite heavy, but then a random really light one for no reason) but I'd get another pregnancy test just to make sure. Were you using a First Response test?

Mine always do this. Flow for 2-3 days then nothing for a day or 2 then spotting here and there for a few days

I learnt when ttc, that your body likes to mess with you. I had pregnancy 'symptoms' every month, except for the month I was actually pregnant

I think when you are ttc, you are super aware of your body and pay more attention to things you wouldn't normally notice.

I would do another hpt, and if it's negative, then you're probably just having a strange cycle. Or you could go to GP and get a blood test to see what your hormones are doing
