@BornToBe congrats! Any other words of advice did you just start from cd1?
@Rachi321 so that means you would most probably ovulate on CD 17 or 18 so vitex should help bring your O date closer to CD14. It can take a few cycles to help regulate things a bit.
As soon as i started taking vitex, i did notice some mid cycle spotting, which is from my hormones regulating (according to my naturopath). I then got a very very strong positive OPK along with O cramping. But my luteal phase was far too short even if we did concieve.
CD3 here atm so im hoping o see my O date much earlier this cycle (CD24 last cycle.
Thank you all for the advice I appreciate it I know a lot of you recommended going to a doctor but I am just not there it mentally .. I will give it a go for another 2 months and then have the chat with the doc maybe try some natural things first xx
@CcegG yes we do sound the same .. Crossing my fingers for you.. Yeah I'm not overly concerned about my luteal phase yet I will try for a few more months before seeing the gp. Flaxseed? Interesting have you tried it ?
I'll try to find the exact study I read about, but here's one from the 90s. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8077314
It's supposed to take 3 cycles to take effect, taking 2 tsp/day I think. I read some people only take it during their LP. I'll look around more and send your way!
OP I had a very short Luteal phase less than 10 days similarly I had a MMC and then several months of TTC and cycle tracking. I booked in to see a FS (GP really won't be much help, they will run some tests but I would book a FS as can take several months to get into, you can kept trying while you wait).
The blood tests my GP ordered confirmed that I was either not ovulating or ovulating late and he told me to ask the FS for further investigating. Strangely enough that cycle I got a BFP!
It's hard to know whether my LP would have been 'longer' on that very cycle because I never got AF. However the 6 cycles before had all been consistent. And the blood tests I had that cycle still don't make sense, the GP certainly didn't think it was possible that I was pregnant (my progesterone was about 6?!). The pregnancy was successful and I am currently nursing my 4 month old.
The other thing I did that cycle was start fertility acupuncture. Again hard to know whether it was a coincidence but I am convinced it helped in some way! I had weekly acupuncture with a lady that specialised in fertility (Obstetricians recommended her) and she worked on lengthening my cycle. She also gave me Chinese herbs to take.
If I ever had this problem again I would definitely go down the acupuncture path! And use temping to track my cycle rather than OPKs as I got mixed results with those.
