BFN today just waiting for the bleeding to start! Taking a month off and meeting up with the dr she is running a clinical trail the nurse mentioned on the phone so will talk to her about it. Feeling ok after the cycle will spend the next month spending time with DP and keeping busy I'm sure 30 days will be here before we know it 😊

Great attitude to have 😊 I'm glad that you are feeling okay and enjoy this month off all the fertility meds etc.

    Hi all,
I've been reading all your posts in the background for a couple of months now which has been very informative.
My partner and I haven't started TTC yet but I'm just doing all my research.
I hope to go for an initial appointment with a fertility clinic in the next couple of months to get a fertility check and make sure everything is ok (I have PCOS and take metformin) and then hopefully start IUI early in 2017.
It's been great reading all your stories and seeing that there are so many same sex couple going through the same journey and there is so much support

I'm so excited to start the process of becoming a mum (I'll carry Bub, my partner isnt interested in being pregnant herself) but affording maternity leave scares me! I know you shouldn't look at the money too much or you'll never have a baby but I'll be taking the time off and government maternity leave + my partners pay doesn't completely cover all expenses so each week we'll have to use a little bit of savings.
Everyone says you learn to cut down but I really don't know how to cut down on the consistent payments such as mortgage, insurance, car etc etc.
Does anyone have any little tips?! Sorry if that's a completely stupid statement, it's just doing my head in!!

Anyway nice to meet you all! And I can't wait to start my IUI
Welcome, which state are you ladies from?

Don't forget to factor in some savings towards IVF if you need it Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones that IUI works for, but it's good to be prepared just in case

Welcome! I hope your journey of TTC is nice and short once the time rolls around.

There's good advice of trying to live off one income whilst you're both working and saving the other (or as much of it as you can).

For us, I added up all of our expenses and broke them down into weekly amounts. This factored in every expense possible to us (within reason). It actually surprised me that we had plenty of overflow of money by doing a budget and sticking to it. (Wish I did it sooner when TTC, only did the budget in prep for mat leave).

We are living comfortably with DP's income and my PPL. I'm much more conscious now of where our money goes but in saying that, we still enjoy our luxuries from time to time. Cutting down on lifestyle things helped a lot. We make our coffee at home instead of getting them at a cafe, eat out rarely, cook in bulk and freeze meals, cancelled Foxtel, cancelled gym memberships and exercise outdoors... Every little bit helps!

For our egg share cycle to conceive we refinanced the mortgage and had the money to pay for it that way. So technically, we are just paying a slightly higher weekly repayment on the mortgage to factor the extra $ borrowed. For us this was a much more affordable way.

I'm sure you'll be able to figure things out. The little bundles at the end are so worth every single bit of it all X

Sorry to hear of the BFN NandM. Hope next stim works out for you girls.

I'm CD1 and doing my next stim starting tomorrow. Exciting to be back to it again, hope I get at least three more embies to test. We will freeze all and then have to wait for a spot for PGS.

I think if we get a good embie I could do a FET in August. But it's a really busy work month for me so I might wait til September. Really hope we get a good one to transfer!

Thanks NandM! The wait actually went by pretty fast in the end, I hope yours does too. What tests is your FS planning?
