This is only my second month of using them so take my answer with a grain of salt, but yes mine gradually got darker over a couple of days.

ETA today is cd10 and I have had a faint second line for the last 3 days.

For me I get no more than a day of faint line before the dark line.

So DH has finally come home this morning, I don't think I have O'd yet (not much ewcm as yet and I can usually feel ovulation). So we may have timing right after all. Not doing opk as this is only cycle 1 off the pill and we decided to take a 'relaxed' approach for the time being

Thanks... I have been getting negatives & I'm CD12 so I'm starting to worry that I won't 'O' before DH goes back to work! Fingers crossed!

    What brand are you using?
I used a cheap strip for 2 months and it got gradually darker. Using the advanced this month and when I pop the stick out I could see the left line was faint until all of the sudden bam! Dark!

I think the digi's you are meant to start earlier in your cycle (well the dual hormone one's - they pick up your individual hormone base )

But definitely be patient your first month. I don't ovulate until day 18-20.
