Default Do you think there are names that will never make a comeback?

I know a baby Gordon and a baby Peter. Some older names are still quite cute but some I can't see coming back are

    Harold
    Burt
    Mervyn

    Beryl
    Doris
    Prudence
    Gail
    Phyllis
    Marilyn

A few years ago I would've had George on that list too, but thanks to the royals it's had a comeback so you just never know!!

My Dad always wanted a son called George. In honor of that my sister chose her first daughter's middle name to be George when she was born. That was 15 years ago, and I really love it! Mind you, I've always like names that are a little unique. I've not come across another girl with the name George before

I find it interesting how names can grow on you over time. The more you hear them the more 'normal' they seem.

i think it's been said in the past that people generally don't like names from their parents generation but names from grandparents generation are considered more cool. so a lot of names in this thread might be top 10 names when our kids are choosing names for their babies.

A large number of these names are from the generation before me, and I am reminded of my aunties and uncles so that is nice. I have a few uncommon names in my family tree. Rosena , Heather, Charmaine, Hilda. Helen. And boys names, Earl. Mervyn, Ronald, Derek, Noel, Bernard, Francis. Percival , A trip down memory lane for me. Marie.
