@Ashjay - lol, it's just annoying when the can't explain anything!!! Do you always do double transfers and are they day 5 embies?
@reecey5 - what is the normal protocol you use? I always use Gonal f. In first cycle I got 2 eggs, but in second cycle I got 10. All the eggs they get are always mature.
Do you find your LH gets too low on Gonal f that you have to use luveris or some other LH supplement? That could be why your eggs aren't mature. I found my egg numbers increase when I added growth hormone. Have you tried adding that to your protocol?
@jess8383 no I've only ever transferred one at a time, but we are now down to our last two from 6 frosties (also had one fresh transfer in 2014 with none to freeze), so we just want to put them both back this time. Feels like I'll be dragging it out if I don't. My embies were all frozen at day 5
@reecey5 I've only used gonal f so can't help with elonva sorry. But welcome fingers crossed for your next cycle
@Ashjay - I've got two frosties left and I'm going to get them transferred to Genea, have them thawed and grown to day 5. If any good, I'll transfer them. But in meantime, I'm going to try cycling back to back to get as many embies, get them tested and then transfer.. I'm getting old at 40.. So I'm running out of time.. My lining is 7mm at ovulation, so I'm worried I have lining issues.. I have had in total 6 embies transferred that have failed to implant...
@pingc383 We are doing a low dose stim FET so no eggs to collect, I did trigger on Friday night & could feel ovulation on Sunday! Transfer is tomorrow... We have 4 embies from a cycle I did in 2012... Hubby is flying home from work tonight so he can with me, plus I'm taking Ativan so need help getting there & back!
@pingc383 only the one transferred yesterday ended up officially making it to blast by day 5 but two were oh so close yesterday. I will get a call today to let me know if they can be frozen, but no the other two didn't make it
@reecey5, I think originally with a male factor diagnosis my FS thought I'd be very straightforward and thought that with no issues with me, my age (32) and everything going to plan that it would be the most 'patient friendly' option since its a long acting FSH. There were a few unexplained issues with me not responding in the end. He told me I was a medical mystery lol. I had a haemorrhagic cyst that looked like I'd ovulated, but no bloods to reflect ovulation. It has since disappeared.
Thanks everyone for the positive vibes, day 1 post is being kind, I'm trying to keep busy at work to make the day fly by!
Hi all, sorry I haven't been around, got really busy the peg few days and haven't caught up with this thread. I found out today that the 2 embryos which were going fine until yesterday (Day 5) and got to mid blastocyst stage but stopped growing last night. So now we don't have any embryos this cycle. The embryologist said if we were doing a transfer now, they would have frozen the embies yesterday (we were going to do a PGD FET).
It felt as if someone has kicked me in the stomach even though I was mentally preparing myself for this outcome. I believe this may have happened because of poor egg quality? Now have to wait for my doctors appointment and see when we I can start stimming again. So much work and pain for no outcome in the end is disappointing but nothing we can control. Hope you all are going strong and look forward to hearing some good news here when I catch up with this thread.
@Mongol - I'm very sorry to hear this.. Could it be the protocol you are on? Otherwise, you might want to consider asking your FS for DHEA and melatonin. My new FS today was going on about how it really improves egg quality... She was going to do one cycle with me without it and introduce it if I had none make it to day 5. I cycle end of next month and nervous as hell because my embryos are fragmented by day 3, so not much hope for day 5........
I'm so sorry to hear this news. When's your next appointment with your FS?
