Default How much for a teen babysitter?

Babysitting three of my kids for max of 3 hours. All school aged. Has to help one with homework but otherwise they'll be out playing with friends for half the time. No expectation to do anything re the night time routine and the babysitter has brought homework with her. She's 16 (her parents are next door in case of emergency for all those who will decide she's not old to babysit!)
    First babysitting job.
    What's the going rate?

I pay $15 an hour to the 'neighbours' children - they are 4k down the road. They earn every cent of it though, they cook and clean, put the kids to bed and bring their own art supplies.

Thanks. She's happy with $10 an hour, so that's what I went with 😃

$30 for 3 kids for 3 hours? If I was 16 I wouldn't get out of bed for anything less than $45

I pay $20 hour but our babysitter is 18/19 and is a qualified child care worker. $15 at least per hour is reasonable. I think $10 hour is a bit stingy. I would feel bad offering/paying that.

$15 per hour sounds fair... $5 per child imo. So yeah $45 for the 3 hrs...but id prob just round it up to $50.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't 16 year olds get like $8 an hour working in mcdonalds or cheap retail jobs? When I was 16,I MUCH preferred earning money babysiting where you get to look after kids, rather than working my a$$ off in my retail job, where I was paid a lot less & had very sore feet by the end of my shift!
