Hi Guys! I have ended up going into a back-to-back cycle instead of waiting so am on day 8 now. Unfortunately I just read that the Puregon I'm on comes from hamsters. This is actually devo news for me as I am a 'do least harm' vegetarian. Although I plan to finish this cycle I can't see myself feeling ok to do another knowing animals have suffered for me to have the medication. Has anyone else felt this or had a similar situation?

thanks, yes I'll post some pics when he's home. this is his online (dating?) profile pic. he's a pretty boy. and I just noticed he's 2 yrs 3 months which almost lines up to our first FS appt for IVF..

thanks for your suggestions about whippets too @Bongley. I ended up deciding the apartment is too small for a dog. maybe if we move to a house later. then I fell in love with this little man.

hes gorgeous @winsor and its a great age too - plus cats are toilet trained in one lesson, so theyre perfect for inside pets and apartment living. Are you guys going to name him or does he have a name already?

@tuxcat he's called 'pudding' on the shelter site. as they said he's overweight (is now on a strict diet) - well, aren't we all. I don't like that name for him

I've been trying to think of a name. perhaps Mister Parker. though I tend to call all cats and dogs 'good boy, pup, mister' so it might end up being 'good boy mister parker pup'. Parker for short (after parkers art store near where I do painting classes)

At least when I started out doing IVF there were lots of friends with no kids to lean on and whinge to and get drunk with. I don't know if DE is something she and her partner would consider (previously said no but not sure if minds could change). I couldn't promote it any better than in my current situation but flapping my preggo belly at her isn't something I'm wanting to do either.

It's almost as if she could do with the benefit of the support of a group of lovely women who have been through/are going through very similar circumstances.

Not necessarily to guide her in any particular direction but to simply show her that there are many options available after the end of your own egg journey.

To provide support and understanding as she weighs up her options. To encourage her along and celebrate the small victories, and commiserate with her during the harder times.

I wonder where she might find a group of women like that....

I second this! I have two and they are my fur-babies. Never a dull moment and they are so good for snuggling
