Do a practice run with them and take a tablet one night at home about an hour before you'd normally go to bed and see how they affect you. Alternatively, take a tablet in the day time when you know you don't have to go out anywhere/drive around lunch time for eg, and see how it affects you.

That's the best way to know for sure how your body is going to respond to the drug/dose

P.S....I have and anxiety disorder myself so know where you're coming from

Thank you BIB. Being trapped in a tin can a billion miles in the air is my worst nightmare. The things I will do for a baby!

Is the valium safe to take for the flight home, after I've had a transfer? Or should I battle though it (ie: be restrained) without it?

You can negotiate with the clinic, I flatly refused to pay for the counselling, have you used Monash before? If so you could ask for a discount. I think I mentioned before you can pay via option b, it takes longer to get the rebate but less up front. Dr Ong is pretty good to if you speak to him about costs as well X

I met my DH on a dating site BUT here's the twist we had met years earlier at a nightclub as well so we kind of already knew each other.

Yes, our last clinic was a Monash clinic as well. Not sure I'd feel comfortable refusing to pay the counselling fee though! I think we only have to do 3 sessions so it shouldn't be too bad....

Yep. it's safe to take Luv

I actually took it prior to transfer and later that night (about an hour before I went to bed) as per Wazza's instructions (which he has all of his Girls do)

So it'll definitely be no problem for you to take for the trip home

I understand, the reason we refused was that we found them a complete waste of time, it wasn't anything we all hadn't already discussed. She basically told me what books to buy to read to the baby etc etc, and I said "what if there is no baby"? Then I cried, then she ended the session WTF? Each session I was in there for less than 20 minutes and it was $200 per session.
I can see my own shrink for half the price!

@Blossom74 I have quite severe anxiety and have been on valium before. I took half a 5mg tablet at first but it did nothing for me. Now I just take it for flying (t's the only way you are getting me on a freakin plane) but I take 10mg and wash it down with a glass of red. I don't get the hazy feeling from valium it just makes me sleepy. Everyone is different though. If you have a spare afternoon maybe you should take one and see how it feels. I am worried that you'll get on the Gold Coast flight with 2mg on board and not be relaxed enough! Actually my last trip to the sunshine state is the reason I now take 10mg. I think we were circling in and out of the edge of a storm for an hour waiting to land in Brisbane. DH may still have the nail marks in his arm.
