Sorry I haven't been around much and just trying to catch up read now. I just wanted to vent a little. Had 2 incidents this week on FB where younger people were making judgement calls on older Mums, one was saying it was 'against nature' and one was a joke meme about older Mums. Sorry I'm not trying to bring anyone down here but just wanted to say I am very glad to read this thread and know I'm not the only 'older' person trying out there. I almost feel like a freak sometimes because people assume I've decided not to have them because of my age We find out on Wed whether our FET worked

    Hi 40NotOut
Wishing you best of luck for Wednesday, will be waiting for great news!
Don't get to upset about what some little toe rags have to say. Unfortunately social media is full of ignorant douche bags and FB gives them a platform!
Did you know the people? We could all go pay them a visit- a hoard of angry over 40's pumped full of hormones would sort them out!!!

    good luck for wed @40NotOut.

I had a look at the world bank site. it seemed to be US$16xxx for 6eggs & US$17xxx for 7 eggs. so with the AU$ atm it may end up being more than $20k just for the eggs. that's why I wondered if it was including treatment/cycle ie if they were doing a 'special' on usual world bank prices. likely not though. I do recall my doc saying $20k back in 2014 but perhaps the exchange rate was better then. I didn't ask at the time if that was all up costs as we wern't thinking of DE at that time. not that we'd pay that much in anycase.

I paid $23,000 to a local clinic and then just before the donor eggs came out of quarantine they changed the deal from guaranteed 6 fertilised eggs to 4 thawed eggs! It was devastating. Then they ended up transferring a 3 day 4 cell and 3 cell when they must have know they would fail. Thank God for Dr K in Greece. One visit and now I'm 13 weeks

I heard the sucess rates for the World Egg Bank were a lot poorer than doing cycles OS. The thing I like about it though is getting to see adult pictures. When I was originally thinking about DE that was actually quite important to me. Now I know about epigenetics I am not as concerned but it's still nice.

We were looking into Conceptions ED in Hawaii before we did our first IVF round. Stupid FS we had back then told us to give up trying ourselves as my FSH would never come down. Well she was WRONG! Started taking DHEA after my own research and it went from 56 to 7!! My new FS actually prescribed it straight away so we like her :P

Anyway, Conceptions did look like a good option and total for everything was about $27,000 USD.
