Am I the only one curious as to what happened in the 2 1/2hrs the OP was in the shop before the refund was offered?

I'm fairly certain the refund would have been offered very early on and the OP refused it. But yes, the mind boggles over spending 2.5 hours arguing with a shopkeeper.

Not the best customer service to be accusing innocent shoppers!

There were calls to managers in there. But I still do not know how you could manage to fill in 2.5 hours. What do you have left to say??? I give up after 5 mins lol.

I read the description of the law that @Sonja wrote and had no idea it was so complicated! (though it doesn't entirely surprise me). When I worked in retail we were told we could 'withdraw an item from sale' if it was incorrectly priced. In one of my stores we frequently had people switch price tags in an attempt to receive a better quality item for a cheaper price. We would have lost lots of money if we had to honour the ticketed price each and every time!
My mind boggles that people do that. And with barcodes!?!?! Who has time to do that? Certainly not me...

Based on the op, she returned after 10 mins and was mostly waiting 2.5 hrs once returning to the store after realising she had the wrong bracelet. Not sure why pp are questioning that - seems fairly clear from the op?
