    Default Garage sales

Just wondering if anyone has held one recently and if it was worthwhile? ?

DH and I discussed this recently but opted against holding a garage sale.

We visited quite a few in our area and the prices on all the items just seemed incredibly cheap.

We decided instead to sell our items on the local Buy Swap Sell, and in the end we actually got what we thought they were worth.

We never could have gotten those prices at a garage sale.

ETA: We had quite a few big ticket items to sell. If you just have regular household goods, a garage sale might be ok

Imo garage sales are great if you have lots of bits and pieces that you just want to get rid of and are happy to sell cheap. For more expensive items I would go gumtree etc. People dont tent to rock up to a garage sale with hundreds of dollars...more so loose change, well thats what I have found. Good luck

DP and I are going to have a garage sale for all the stuff that we don't want and would otherwise chuck in a skip, and can't be bothered to sell. Stuff like cds, books, cables etc etc. Everything $1. We'll get a bit of cash for things we would otherwise add to landfill.
