Default Four Corners tonight - fertility treatments

Just heard the preview on ABC radio - sounds interesting. It's on at 830 tonight.

Apparently they are calling growth hormone and immune suppression therapy snake oil.

    Should spark and interesting discussion.

Default Four Corners tonight - fertility treatments

I took Growth Hormone with all my own egg cycles with Waz. Is expensive.. $350 per vial and u need 3 to 4 vials. It is not claimable thru Medicare.. Though I could claim about $30 per vial from my private health insurance. The growth hormone he uses Is called scitrophin

My first cycle with immune suppression and growth hormone resulted in my 2 yr old. I repeated same protocol a couple of times but was unsuccessful.

Thanks for that info @kylie764, his nurse has said to me that if it wasn't for the cost he would put everyone on it. We are wanting to throw everything at this cycle after several failed attempts so are happy to give it a go whatever the cost think we are already broke at this stage haha! Great to hear it worked for you and gave you your son. Will be interesting to see what this show says before my appointment tomorrow.

    Very interesting, I'll be watching.

We used growth hormone with wazza for our last cycle and got our first ever blastocysts (4!!!) and pregnancy.

I say go for it @Heyside!! Wazza doesn't 'waste' money on useless treatments so would suggest it for no reason. I'm pretty sure he told me he doesn't make any money from prescribing it.

My friend saw the FS saying drugs were over prescribed. She did a heap of cycles with him and got nowhere and he wouldn't change anything. She saw a new FS who added steroids and she got pregnant first go.
