Well I'm officially PUPO!! Great emby was transferred, the other 2 are not looking so great but will give them a few more days to see if they can recover. Let the agonising TWW begin!

Omg that is so exciting!!! I will be so happy to get to transfer stage! I still have a few more hurdles to get through.

I hope it's not as agonising as they say and that it flies by super quickly. And that your little embie sticks!!! Sending you lots of positive vibes!!!

Our doctor Warren Chan thinks we should be successful sooner rather then later so fingers crossed ❤️.
Anyone else starting out? It would be lovely to have some other women to chat to.
    good luck to all

    Hi Beck,

My wife has just been through the complete ICSI cycle which resulted in the following below:

    6 follicles retrieved after injections
ICSI performed = 5 fertilized and then on day 5
ONLY 3 made it into the blastocyst stage where we had 2 frozen embryos and one transferred back and wee just found out yesterday that my wife IS BFP WITH HCG OF 280/ML - RANGE OF 40+ IS USUALLY ENOUGH.

Now I can answer your questions but i wanted to give you hope and encouragement first!

It will be mentally tough to get through and i recommend to eat a mainly organic food and stick to home made meals to start with. Big portion is contributed to your diet and the way your body functions so earlier you begin on a healthy diet the better.

    NOW THE JOURNEY
you will start injecting on day 2-3 of your periods and it is not pleasant but i recommend you inject yourself with the gonal injections.
Best way my wife found is to place an ice pack on the area you will be injecting for a minute or so... this will numb the area and then use the swab and have your husband prepare the injection in the meantime with the right dosage as recommended by your fertility specialist.
This way you will experience very little pain and also once you have your gonal pressed fully hold it for 25 seconds as we found this ensures you will administer the full dosage.

My wife and I found that the other injections you need to administer is more painful (manually mix the contents)

While you are having your blood test done and ultrasound when it comes to the trigger is straight forward as the pen works in the same way as gonal pen.

collection day it is not any worse than a pap smear unless you have vaginismus which my wife has....
Being relaxed and not being tight is the key here...
Then once it is time to wait to know how many are follicles are fertilized with your partner sperm you will need to wait and from there if everything is ok you will have a waiting period until it is time to transfer an egg back and worst part was the 2 week waiting period.

if you have more specific question please ask... I was with my wife every step of the way.. including the research etc

best of luck and keep positive

    Hi Ilkandmt,
thank you so much for your detailed response. My partner and I are on the gonal f stage four days in and the injections seem to be fine (i also use ice to numb the area).
the whole process seems alot easier then first anticipated and I find the waiting game/head noise the worst.
We already eat organic which I started on years ago, although being a few kilos less would proberbly help ✨
A huge congrats to you and your wife how exciting! You must be thrilled!!

    Hi everyone!
so today after 4 days of gonal f 225 we are now also doing the orgalutran 250 injections.
I did an ultrasound and blood tests this morning and apparently I have 6 folicals on the left with a size of 16,15,14,12,11,11 and 5 on the right ranging from 15,14,12,9 and 9. The nurse says this is good
Another ultrasound and bloods will be done on Saturday and they estimate egg collection will be Tuesday. Ekkkkkk im nervous ... Mainly because my right ovary is "hiding" and hard to get to which im guessing may be a bit of a problem and could be a bit painful after ...
how is everyone else going?? GM9 how are you feeling? Surfer girl where are you up to??

@Beckmilamoo ahh awesome! I'm basically one day ahead of you!! I started orgalutran yesterday. Just did my second injection. How are you finding it??

Aww I'm jealous that you've already had a scan though! I'm with a bulk bill clinic so just the one follies scan on Friday (no blood test) and I'd been guessing epu on Monday. Which sounds about right based on your timeline!
@Little AJ how is your 2ww wait. I just collected an entire bag of vag tabs from the clinic yesterday. Thanks by the way, I only refer the them as this now! I can never remember the real name because "vag tabs" always pops into my head haha
@jess8383 I'm getting pretty good at my injections now. I can't even feel them! I just hope they're doing what they're meant to be doing! I guess I'll find out at my scan in Friday!

How are you feeling? I'm glad your ready to jump straight back in and try again!! So you're just waiting for af now?

    Hey!
Im finding it all alot less daunting then I first imagined! The needles are not so bad although I do feel a little sick after.
Lucky you to be being bulk billed ... The whole process is so expensive! Im sure its all the same in the long run
Keep me posted! And what are these vag tabs ive got vag liquid???

Yeah I'm surprised at how quickly it has just become second nature! Just popped these injections on the adds of House Rules you know, no big deal.

It is so expensive! We were a bit hesitant to go bulk bill at first. We were originally booked elsewhere but made a last-minute decision to give it a crack (after waiting four months to get into the other clinic for our first appt). I've been super open minded and so far I've been more than impressed by the service. Our case is relatively straightforward, dh had a vasectomy. So I'm hoping this is the right option for us. Time will tell 😊

It's costing around $2000 total. We only pay the out of pocket amount. ICSI is the most expensive part of it as it doesn't seem to be bulk billed like most other things.

Haha vag tabs as are the pessaries as dubbed by Little AJ haha. I haven't used them yet but have a whole stash in my pantry now!

Hi Surfer, all's well here. Days 6 post transfer. I did a sneaky POAS test this morning because I am a silly bugger who has no patience! Of course it was negative. Even when we were trying naturally I would never have tested this early. The TWW does play games with your mind. I started feeling much better so decided that I musn't be pregnant. Then I rolled over in bed and my boobs hurt so I thought maybe I am......AGHHH
    Good luck for your scan.
Another hot tip.......make sure you put the 'vag tab's' waaay up there.

Wow @Beckmilamoo, vag liquid. That might not be fun to 'ahem' insert!

Booked in for my blood test next wednesday .
