Default 6 days difference between my EDD & ultrasound EDD

    Hi Ladies,

So I had my first scan today and we got to see that amazing little heart flickering away at 158bpm. Based on my LMP I am 7w6d pregnant..... However when I had my ultrasound the sonographer has my due date 6 days later which only makes me 7 weeks!

The reason for my confusion is that I did a pregnancy test the day my period was due and thought I was already 4 weeks at this stage.... So based on the sonographer I got a BFP when I was 3 weeks pregnant and about 7 DPO?? My BFP was extremely clear on the test I took also.

    Talk about confused!

Has anyone had their dating scan throw them this many days out but then change again at a later scan?

Every single time I've had a scan with my 4 girls, they've always back dated my date. You could have ovulated later than you expected or not have the typical 28 day cycle. Try not to be concerned, it's completely normal!

Yes don't stress there is generally a bit of measurement error too. Your dates are probably fairly spot on if you know your cycle

My SIL had her date pushed back by 2 weeks when she had her twins. She was 4 weeks when she told us, so impossible that she was actually only 2. They were born at 34 weeks at a great weight and nice and healthy (I suspect she was 36 weeks)

They quite often change dates when going by LMP because that is just a guide, if you are close to that measurement they will leave the date. Everyone ovulated at a different time so there's no way of them knowing exactly when you fell pregnant.
It's quite common, I wouldn't stress. You obviously didn't fall pregnant the day your period started so The few days different is probably accurate

So we are in the same boat Lozz90! My EDD has gone from 31/12 to 06/01.
I am getting a belly already! Don't know how I'll hide this for another 5 weeks!
