    Default Laproscopy Perth

    Hi

Myself and my partner have been trying to conceive for almost two years. We are now seeing a fertility specialist who has recommended i have a laproscopy because he thinks I might have endo. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of costs here in Perth. I won't be fully covered with my health insurance and we are trying to find out all the costs at the moment but I was just wondering what others have paid.

    TIA

I would ask your specialist what he charges for uninsured patients. Need to then add anesthetist fee and hospital fee. Your FS may work out of public hospital.. But I doubt it. Which FS are u seeing? May be worth upping yr health cover or waiting so you get cover.. Depending on yr .. If you have time to wait.

    Hi!!

I went through IVF with Concept and they were amazing, it ended up costing us roughly $3k out of pocket our FS recommended we do Standard IVF which is cheaper and we were really lucky it worked first time. Medicare covers a lot and HBF covered all in hospital stuff and iv also heard you can pay for it via your super now???

Our journey started May last year, I found out both my tubes where blocked, a week later I had them both removed and 4 weeks after that I started my meds for IVF, and now we have a 6 week old. Our FS was awesome!! Stay positive and try to go on with everything as normal, sending you lots of baby dust 💕💕

Iv read your post wrong im so sorry it doesn't help at all....I remember when I had my laparoscopy I think it was about $3k all up but HBF covered it all, the anaesthetist was about $1500 I think. If you want I can look back through my paperwork for you?

Hi, I'm in Adelaide and not Perth. I had a laporoscopy last June, had stage 3 endo and a fibroid tumour which our old FS didn't tell us after failed rounds of ivf (money talks unfortunately). Changed FS he did the laporoscopy. I'm now 30weeks along and naturally conceived some 5 months after the surgery. All up it cost me $600 gap for the surgery direct to my new FS who is also a Gyno/OB and $150 for anastetic, in hospital overnight. I have top cover with no gap. But I think if it was 100% out of pocket it would of been around $7k

Thanks so much everyone, I'm waiting on my specialist to get back to me with some fees, I just wanted to have an idea so that i can compare when I hear back from him. Think I'm just a bit anxious and sick of waiting, not because of him, he's been great, just in general, everythink takes so long!!

    Thanks again for the responses

Thanks Sparkle18, that gives me a good idea of costs, I'm waiting for the specialist to get back to me so hopefully he'll let me know in the next few days. Congrats on your baby, I'm guessing it was all worth it
