Did you find the ivf medications and blood pressure tablets are ok together?
Sorry just having a freak out about another blOODY thing to stress out about. I've been told to monitor for a week or so and come back to GP. I'm actually just at the point where I'll take the medication just because it's easier than trying to lower it naturally by cutting salt or loosing weight.

I have high BP. First got it at 17 (smoker, overweight and family history induced). Went on meds, lost a heap of weight, gave up smoking, and got it under control. Came off the meds shortly thereafter.

Since starting IVF it's high again. A combination of the IVF drugs and my increasing weight. I now take 5mg of Tritace a day and that controls it well. When gearing up for transfers I go onto Aldomet, which is safe to use during pregnancy. Doesn't work as well and has to be taken 3 times a day, but it's safe.

If it's any consolation, around the 160/90 mark I start feeling terrible. Once I take my meds and BP is under control I feel much better within myself.

    Thanks @BIB for the update.

To JulieM, congratulations on the safe delivery of your two gorgeous babies. I'm very sorry you had a tough time of it though, and am wishing you a speedy recovery.

Give those babies a kiss on the cheek for me

Thanks so much @Blossom74 for the info. Makes me feel a bit better. I'm glad you find it manageable during IVF too. Thanks.

You're welcome And hey, if it comes down to going onto meds to get this under control, it's not necessarily forever. You can work on weight/diet/exercise and may be able to cut them down/eliminate them totally in due course.

The 18 year old ED I chatted about on here previously created less than 10 eggs on her first donation. I wonder whether they give her the gentlest stimulation due to her tender age? Awaiting for more info so I know whether she's an option or not at a later stage. I guess having her AMH tested would prove helpful. It would be the TET first of course.
