@ange1111 Wazza did a Day 3 transfer for us as it worked better for us that way r.e the Ex being able to get the day off work to drive my high-as-a-kite a*rse home!!!😁😁😁😁
Tahli haven't you had enough **** recently?!?! My fur babies are my only babies and I cry into them a lot when they're on my lap. I can't imagine what you are going through, thinking of you xxx
@Bongley Ive been trying to find that post you did with the breakdown of your cycle costs..too hard!! With the hospital cover for your donor is it whether she has medical cover or is it based on your medical cover? We have top hospital cover but Im guessing that won't even matter if its based on the donor's. My mum has offered to help us pay for it which is so great, has taken a huge load off my shoulders so Im just trying to start to get my head around everything.
If you happen to have that list within copy and paste would you mind posting it otherwise I have the info from Genea its just getting a very realistic look at it. I know you said counselling is extra too. I don't expect you to retype btw only if you had it somewhere!!!
I also just spoke to RPA and you can transfer your embryos it might just be a matter of waiting out the quarantine period of 3 months before you can use them, Robyn is going to call me tomorrow as she up to speed on it all and wasn't there.
@winsor - thought this might all be useful for you too when you find your donor and if she is interstate you can transfer back to RPA and go through them.
The plan is to do the first one through Genea and then if we need more transfers we can go through RPA.
@tuxcat funny you ask, I looked it up again myself a few weeks back:-
initial consult $350?
genea cycle $5000 oop
theatre costs $1500?
donor expenses $1500
blood tests for donor $500
FET x 3 $7500?
PGD testing $2500? capped (or 700? each)
embryo freezing $300
"That's not including all the meds and precriptions too, depends on the meds but that could add a few hundred *shudder* I was initially budgeting for 10K too but it blew out (obviously).
Please triple check the costs with genea though (especially the FETs) as I was half in denial and just paying things then trying my best to forget about it. Also the medicare rebates on the cycles and FETs confused my memory of costings a bit."
I have a question for any experienced IVFers. Is it possible for an early stage blastocyst to de-evolve overnight back to a compacting embryo?? I've just been told this happened to my embryo. Yesterday it was an early blast I was told by one lab technician. Today she says its not and its a compacting embryo so somehow it's gone backwards in development. I'm very sceptical and I'm concerned as the lab have given us a huge cause for concerns in the past.
Would really appreciate your knowledge on this.
Ps I'm writing to complain as there were other discrepancies in the results. Told I had a 4AA blast by one technician then today a different technician told me it was a 3AA yesterday.
thanks @tuxcat & Bongley that's really useful. and expensive! ouch
I'm not sure @Apples1234 - I haven't heard of that happening. but I can't remember what the #cells difference is between those two stages. I thought the blast was when there's the outer cells & inner mass and some liquid/space between them for some/most of the internal diameter. I didn't realise they could lose some space/go back to compacted. perhaps they made a mistake and were looking at another embryo during one of the calls?
