Default Tongue & lip tie on my 4wk old :(

My son had scissors. Very fast and very little blood. Healed quickly too and hasn't redeveloped.

When ds had his done he had numbing gel, then local anaesthetic before the laser. There's a good article on the FB group about scissors vs laser (but can't totally remember it so don't want to mis-quote it!!)

I just noticed this post, upper lip tie is what caused my dd to have a gap between her two front teeth.. Going to be very expensive orthodontic work to fix it, when, in hindsight, if I had have insisted they snip the upper lip tie while they were snipping the tongue tie, the orthodontic work wouldn't be an issue..

    Just thought I'd mention it..

Was that because you insisted on anaesthetic being used? Or was that normal procedure?

And did he still breastfeed straight afterwards?

Sorry for late reply @Snooze. The local was just normal procedure. Ds had a bf as soon as we got home (maybe about half hour after procedure)
