of course I'm not suggesting anyone would see this and think it's a good idea for a baby to sleep balanced precariously in a basket on a dresser!
Sorry I still doubt that would happen. If someone was dumb enough they'd likely do something without needing the media to encourage them.

Babies have been used in media for a long time doing potentially unsafe things.

Baby bumpers should be banned. I had a sales lady trying to sell me one as it would match the sheet set! Seriously
I get what Turquoisecoast means, not suggesting a parent would put their kid on a shelf to sleep but could see how perhaps some people would try and replicate the picture. Reminds me of those baby rockers that have warning labels of not to place on a high surface eg table. I saw my friend do it and completely freaked out and told her to put the baby on the floor as its not safe on the table.

I loathe all of those baby portraits! Sorry 99% of the population 😉

Whilst I know that's all that shot is and that it's never safe for a baby to be put to sleep like that and left alone, I know not everyone can think for themselves beyond the media, so I agree, more thought needs to be out into what they're showcasing.

I mean did they really need to put that basket on a chest of draws!?

I'd agree with you. I find all those shots a bit pointless tbh.

I think if people are stupid enough to put their baby in risky sleeping situations because of what they see in media, they would probably do almost anything they read online about parenting that may be completely incorrect or unsafe (thinking people in online Facebook groups giving poor information).

My photographer took this photo of my daughter and I love it. My mum held her the entire time and was photoshopped out. ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1463040830.438591.jpg
