Default Oven doors - are there ones that stay cool?

    Hello all

I am thinking about replacing our oven, and with a toddler running around, I'm hoping to get one with a door that stays cool to touch. The oven we have now is old, and the door gets quite hot.

So - do you have an oven door that actually stays cool when the oven is on? If so, what brand do you have, and do you recommend it?

All of the newer ones I've used don't stay cool but they don't get burn you hot. I regularly stand by watching mr 19months have a check if it's hot or not and I've tested with my hand on there for a few seconds. Hot but not burn.

What I did used to have was a convection microwave up where the kids couldn't reach. Anything really really hot I did in there, like Yorkshire puddings at 250•. But I did that more because they can't leave me alone so it's annoying to try open in to put things in/out without a helper who would get hurt. Was great until it broke and I can't afford to replace it (was second hand and easily 10 hrs old)

Our Miele oven door (just installed this year) stays cool still at 250 degrees. Was slightly warm when using the pyrolytic function - but no where near close to even becoming uncomfortable.

I have a beko electric oven which we put in our new kitchen a year ago. The door stays cool to touch. Knobs can be pushed in so kids can't turn them. Slide out racks is a great feature. Very happy with it so far and it cost about $1300 😀

Any triple glazed door should stay reasonably cool

Mine is double glazed I think, and gets hot, but wouldn't burn you. My oven is a Bosch

OP needs to calm down. I've never seen an oven door than can burn.

True, and kids will learn after touching it once that it's HOT. Both my kids learned the hard way, but it isn't hot enough to actually burn. They're not stupid!
