Default Australia Zoo vs Taronga Zoo

My son has been asking me to take him to a zoo so I thought I might take him for his 4th birthday soon.. Has anyone been to both of these zoos that can tell me which one they thought was better and why?

Depending where you live another to consider is Western Plains zoo. It's worth doing it over a weekend, but it's much more spread out and the animals look a bit happier in bigger enclosures.

Australia Zoo by far, it's incredible and they do a fabulous croc show, there's a zoo bus thingy around and so much to see!

I've been to Australia Zoo, Taronga & Western Plains (Dubbo). Really loved them all.
Aus Zoo has some cool shows & lots of animals out with their keepers for photos. Has a petting zoo & you can feed the kangaroos.
Taronga is a bit more standard zoo, has a big range of animals. It has the cable car ride up to the top. Lots of interesting enclosures & displays.
Western Plains was awesome in that it is open range & the animals have big enclosures with a safari feel. Has been years since I went but expect it is still amazing.

I don't go to zoos and haven't been to Australia Zoo but I would pick that one over Taronga purely as they have a better rescue ethic/facility and need the money more than the government does !

I've only ever been to Australia Zoo and I love it. I can not fault it at all. We've been three times and are going again later this year. The animals look happy and healthy and the staff are amazing. My favourite is the bird show before the croc show lol.
