My gp was great. She thinks im pregnant but has ordered a scan if the blood test comes negative but the blood test will also check for thyroid, menopause, rubella so pregnancy test ready tomorrow, rest on monday.
I should say ultrasound but you know what i mean lol
Oh that would be amazing hun good luck x
Thanks...ill get excited when i know for sure. Funny enough, apart from fatigue and lower back pain, ive not had any other symptoms so we shall see once i get confirmation
Test kits at home have come up negative...
Pathology is right next door so results will be quick.
Basically she wants to find out whats going on down there so she has organised the necessary tests. She doesn't think its menopause, although blood test will see about that but she said in most cases, daughters usually follow their mothers eg age when it happens
Just an update.
Blood test - not pregnant
- not menopausal
- immune to rubella
- thyroid fine
- abnormal vitamin D level.
I have to make appointment within 2 weeks for Ostelin and if no period in next 2 weeks, going for ultrasound.
At 42 with or without a missing period you need all the ducks lined up to get pregnant so I urge you to get a fertility specialist on your team and take it from there. I'm still shocked a gp would tell you you might be pregnant without at least a hpt. This sort of talk can lead to so many emotions. She should have reserved her judgment until at least an initial test.
